Rocket dogs

Need a quick, easy, kid-friendly, delicious AND patriotic treat to serve at your 4th of July party?

Try rocket dogs!

No, not the shoes.

This tasty rocket dogs are hot dogs wrapped in refrigerated breadstick dough. Add a skewer, a triangle of cheese and some ketchup and mustard stripes, and you've got a fun family meal. Add a tail of red white and blue ribbon, or even a bit of foil, to the skewers for an even more festive presentation.

I actually preferred the breadstick to a hot dog bun. Sometimes hot dog buns are too dry, or there's too much bread and not enough dog. I didn't have that problem with these!

The older kids could even help out making the dogs, which keeps them occupied and frees you up for some adult socializing.

Happy 4th!
