Cal Poly football camp opens today

Tribune file photo by Nick Lucero.

Fresh off the shocking news of first-year assistant coach Randy Hanson’s early Sunday morning arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the Cal Poly football team opens training camp today.

Practice for the upcoming season begins with a 3 p.m. helmets-only session at the Upper Sports Complex. There likely won’t be much action of consequence considering the non-contact nature of the practice, but that doesn’t mean it will be boring. I’ll be on campus tweeting updates, which can be followed HERE. If you have any specific questions you think I can help with, send a tweet to @SLOcollegebeat, and I’ll do my best to answer.

If you’re planning on going to the practice, make sure to read our short camp preview and download and print a roster from GoPoly.com.
