On the same night the Cal Poly volleyball team took a step back in its quest for a third straight Big West Conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance, the football team moved one step closer to its first postseason berth since 2005.

Great West Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week Jonathan Dally and company made quick work of North Carolina Central in a 49-3 win.

Cal Poly junior setter Hailey Fithian had a public admirer in the Mustangs’ 3-0 win over UC Davis in Mott Gym on Friday.

This guy held up a sign saying, “Hailey will you marry me.”

Of course, she accepted.

The only problem was she had no idea who the guy was/is.

I got her on camera to talk about it. And I’ll keep you posted on the story as it develops.
