A really gross Top Ten list
July 14, 2008 Internet, action movieStop, or I’ll shoot!
Few things get a moviegoer’s attention faster than a bullet in the brains.
Gun shots, especially the kind that leave nasty gaping holes in things, are a mainstay of modern action movies. They tear chunks out limbs. They sever arteries. They send geysers of blood spurting, fountain-like, into the air.
Occasionally, they target someone’s noggin.
Although I consider a blog entry about gunshot wounds to the head to be in rather poor taste, I’m not the only one bringing the Gospel of Cinema to the masses.
Time Out London has compiled a list of “10 great head shots.”
Making the list are:
- “The Deer Hunter”
- “Blade Runner”
- “Young Guns”
- “Bullet in the Head” (um, duh)
- “Wild at Heart”
- “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”
- “Hana-Bi”
- “Fight Club”
- “Last Days”
- “No Country for Old Men”
Mercifully, there are no video clips. Click here for a chilling, albeit entertaining, list of killer head shots.
