Below: Absolutely zero details about my upcoming TV appearance
I’ve kept mum for about a month now. I’ve been careful about leaking any hits. In fact, I’ve only shared the news with only a few friends and family members.
Well, kids, the cat is finally out of the bag: I’m going to be on “Jeopardy!”
As you might recall, I tried out for the popular game show back in October — along with about 1,000 other Central Coast residents.
I made it to the second round and played a sample game with eight other would-be contestants, including a stand-up comedian, a bartender and a caterer. Initially, I wasn’t sure about my chances for success.
Well, it turns out that I must have that special “star quality” after all.
Last month, “Jeopardy!” contestant coordinator Maggie Speak invited me to come on the show. If I remember correctly, I was so stunned I could barely speak.
Together with some friends, I headed down to Sony’s Culver City studios about a week ago to serve as an alternate on the show. Then, yesterday, I appeared as a contestant on “Jeopardy!”
About 12 million television viewers will watch me strut my stuff on Tuesday, July 21.
Due to “Jeopardy!” rules, I can’t divulge any specific details about my upcoming appearance on national television. However, I will share that the show — which is currently celebrating its 25th season — is much, much harder than it looks.
You’ll have to tune in Tuesday, July 21, to see me on “Jeopardy!”
The show airs locally at 7 p.m. weekdays on KSBY, Channel 6.
