“The Expendables” will rock your socks off

Sylvester Stallone’s latest blockbuster: “Ocean’s Eleven,” but with more explosions
If the new trailer for “The Expendables” doesn’t get your heart racing, I don’t know what will.
Action heroes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke star as elite squad of mercenaries sent to South America to overthrow an evil dictator. Along the way, they run afoul of Eric Roberts and a whole host of baddies.
Do I have your attention now? Good. Because what I’m about to say is going to blow your mind.
Stallone is directing the movie.
That’s right. The Italian Stallion has some more dynamite up his sleeve.
“The Expendables” looks and feels like the kind of movie that Stallone was making 15 or 20 years ago. Those were the days of “Judge Dredd” and “Demolition Man,” “Cobra” and “Over the Top.”
At age 63, Sly’s moving a little slower than he used to. But he’s proven in recent years that he still has a zest for knock-out, drag-down boxing matches (“Rocky Balboa”) and bloody decapitations (“Rambo”).
Now comes “The Expendables,” from the screenwriter of “Doom,” David Callaham.
In addition to Stallone and his fellow badasses, the action-packed flick features Swedish stud Dolph Lundgren, former NFL star Terry Crews and pro wrestlers Randy Couture and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
There are appearances by the likes of Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Trejo. “Sin City” babe Brittany Murphy, “Angel” cutie Charisma Carpenter and Mexican soap star Giselle Itie provide the eye candy.
In short, “The Expendables” is a lot like “Ocean’s Eleven” – but with more explosions. Way more.
I personally can’t wait to see this outrageous, over-the-top blockbuster on the big screen. But I’ll have to cool my heels for a while.
“The Expendables” opens in theaters on Aug. 20, 2010.

i was VERY EXCITED about this movie until I saw the trailer. It stunk. This looks like a bad 80’s movie. HUGE STALLONE FAN – very disappointed at how bad this not only looks, but sounds. Cheesy dialogue BIGTIME. This looks awful, sorry:(

More like The Explosions than the Expendables. Looks hugely dissapointing, but at the same time I want to be wrong. Stallone needs something to come back with and if this bombs he’ll go scurrying back under a rock for another five years.

Oh you just don’t know how excited I am about seeing this! It’s all my fave people rolled into one big explosive film.
I loved this exchange in the trailer:
Stone Cold: Who sent you?!
Sly: You’re hair dresser!
I feel like a kid again.
