Big waves are expected to arrive this week, so you know what that means. Yup — get your tuba out!
Let me explain: If you’re going to surf bigger waves — and we couldĀ see 10-footers or bigger later this week, according to Wetsand.comĀ – you’re going to need to be able to hold your breath for a while should you wipe out and get held under. And one of the thing experts say you can do to prolong your breath-holding is to take up a wind instrument.
Like the tuba.
This wiki page has a pretty good list of other things you can do, including spashing cold water on your face, breathing exercises, losing weight and more.
Meanwhile, here are some videos for learning to play tuba.
