Hang on to your coin purses, first class postal rates just went up 20%. How much you ask? A whopping penny.
This was back when there was only one post office in San Luis Obispo, (and Cholame too.) The parking lot in the background of the Marsh Street Post Office has been since transformed into a parking garage.
Those six cent stamps will be good till 1971 then rates will take a two cent jump.
