Aaron Metchik left was featured in a story about his role in the TV comedy "Torkelsons" in this October 1991 photo. He is with his real-life family, mom Robyn and siblings Ariana and Asher. Published 10-10-1991 David Middlecamp
Robyn Metchik has a talented family. The Lucia Mar drama teacher has seen her son Aaron land roles in a network television situation comedy “Torkelsons”. Both Aaron and Asher were in the film Sissy Spacek film “Trading Mom.” Aaron also was featured in the movie “Baby Sitters Club”.
Daughter Ari is an award winning painter who sold an acrylic work for $450 at the age of 12.
However most remarkable to me was watching Robyn recently teach a class of 55 energetic middle school students. Anyone familiar with the age group knows how hard it is to get that many personalities to work together. Hundreds of students have learned improvisation, singing, dance and acting in her classes. Another student took early lessons far beyond the middle school stage. Zack Efron is one of her alumni.
She will be retiring after this year and The Tribune will have a story on Sunday.

Forgive the correction, sir, but Ephron is actually spelled Efron. I would expect that she knows just about every casting director in Hollywood. I’d be curious if she had anything to do with the Jr. acting courses offered by the community college in Santa Maria as well.
Thanks for the correction Steven, for some reason I had the spelling for Nora Ephron’s name stuck in my head when my fingers were on the keyboard. I fixed the copy.
