Mission Prep football off to great start

Mission Prep moved up to the third-ranked football team in the Division Fourth South state bowl rankings.
The two teams now ranked above the Royals are Bishop Diego (in the number two slot) and top-ranked Sierra Canyon, the 2011 Division 4 state champion.
Mission Prep will play Bishop Diego (2-0) in its final game of the season on Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at home in San Luis Obispo.
A ranking at the end of the season in the top 2 would place Mission Prep in a regional bowl game, a first ever for Mission Prep.
Royals’ quarterback Tyler Baty was 14-for-22 passing for 292 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Royals’ 47-14 win against Rio Hondo, which had been number 3 in the poll.
The Royals play St. Genevieve tonight (Saturday, Sept. 8) at home at 7 p.m.
The visiting team from Panorama City won its first games 42-0 (against Hamilton) and 54-0 (against Amino).
