AG sports thriving in the fall

The Eagles are perched atop the local teams in high school sports’ rankings this fall. The boys’ football and girls’ volleyball teams are both ranked sixth in their CIF-Southern Section divisions, girls’ tennis comes in at number two this week, and boys’ water polo is number five.

No other county high school has teams ranked in the Top 10 in each of those sports.

Other local schools that have cracked the Top 10 this week include Templeton (ranked seventh in Div. 3 girls’ volleyball and 10th in girls’ cross country), Mission Prep (ranked first in the Northeast Division in football), Nipomo (eighth in girls’ volleyball), San Luis Obispo (ninth in girls’ cross country), Morro Bay (ranked eighth in boys’ cross country), and Coast Union (fifth in eight-man football and sixth in girls’ volleyball).

Congrats to all the local teams having great fall seasons thus far. Others are on the bubble and knocking on the door to get in (i.e. SLO High football which received votes this week but didn’t rank in the Top 10).

Which local schools will crack the Top 10 for next week?
