Congrats to all the cross country runners that turned out for the county championship on Thursday at Laguna Lake.
The event featured 155 runners in the boys’ race and 100 in the girls’ from high schools countywide.
The runners had to deal with some winds coming off the lake and especially headwinds on a slight uphill on the track’s opposite side of the lake.
But for all involved, it was pleasant temperatures out there and the participants seemed to be having fun.
The winners were Aidan Farrell of Paso Robles High for the boys and Micky Rennick of San Luis Obispo High for the girls. In team competition, Arroyo Grande won the boys’ meet and the Tigers took the girls.
And they avoided a flock of geese which seemed to be interested in the man handing out tortilla pieces to them anyway. Good job all.
